Description:The Lead Distribution Associate is responsible for coordinating and organizing a team of associates to successfully complete daily established production goals under the direction of the supervisor/manager.
Duties:� Works with supervisor/manager to determine the necessary requirements for operations. � Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse by conducting operations in a manner which promotes safety of employees and security of company assets. � Assists in the training of general warehouse associates. � Maintains equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Reports service requests as needed. � Track hours in work area to provide feedback on staffing needed to effectively run operations. � Guide and work with other associates to ensure orders are accurately filled and shipped. � Gather relevant information and submit reports as requested. � Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assists in building cleanup as needed. � Communicate problems, concerns and ideas to supervisor/manager. � May take on special assignments or ot er roles as assigned. � Provide input regarding performance, recognition, discipline of associates to supervisor/manager. � Assist in the timely accident/incident reporting process. � Active participant in company events.
Qualifications:� Excellent attendance and safety record. � HS diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. � 1-3 yrs experience in the leadership role in a distribution environment. � We are seeking candidates with the ability to: o Keep the supervisor/manager informed of progress, issues and potential problems. o Take full responsibility for results. o Demonstrate honesty, keep commitments and behaves in a consistent professional manner. Set the example for others to follow. o Provide timely guidance and feedback to help associates accomplish a task or solve a problem in a constructive and non-threatening way. o Seek feedback from others and is receptive to new ideas and perspectives. o Make timely and sound decisions and take responsibility for those decisions. o Effectively handle several challenging problems or tasks at once. o Relate well with others and maintains confidentiality. o Demonstrate consistency and fairness. o To be tactful, compassionate and sensitive, and treat other with respect. o Provide timely and honest feedback in a constructive and non-threatening way. � Working knowledge of the Systemax Warehouse System. � Must be able to work with computer and RF scanner � Detailed oriented and well organized. � Able to work weekends and/or overtime as needed, often with short notice.
